    Attracting the Ideal Mate

How do you truly feel about yourself? Do you keep attracting the same type of people? What unconscious feelings about yourself are you projecting onto potential mates?

Hypnosis, in conjunction with other techniques, can be of tremendous help in uncovering your unconscious beliefs and patterns pertaining to meeting potential mates and developing relationships. For example, you might continue to meet men or women who are emotionally unavailable, controlling, clingy, or abusive because your unconscious thoughts and repetitive patterns might be manifesting the same experiences and dynamics.

Dr. Ray will work with you to change these negative and self-imposed beliefs into positive beliefs.

Imagine yourself eliminating these old beliefs and installing new positive affirmations. Imagine yourself feeling comfortable, confident, and radiating all your finest qualities.

    Sexual Issues

Are you having difficulty with your sex life? Are you lacking confidence or sexual education? Are you going through changes that might be influencing this? Is your sex life the way you would like it to be?

Sexuality is one of our greatest natural gifts to be enjoyed. When sex is satisfying, our energy, our health, our well-being, and our attitude toward life and ourselves is enhanced

Whether you suffer from anorgasmia (inability to orgasm), arousal disorder, vaginismus, performance anxiety, premature ejaculation, erectile dysfunction, or even sexual boredom, hypnosis has been highly effective in alleviating these symptoms.

Barring medical conditions, it has been proven that underlying emotions causes many
sexual dysfunctions. Locating troubled emotions and their causes will help overcome them so that you can have the sex life you deserve.

In conjunction with hypnosis, Dr. Ray will provide you with Qi Gong exercises, CDs for post-therapy and supplementary educational information to assist you in achieving a healthier sex life.

    Motivation

Are you feeling a lack of energy or enthusiasm to go to the gym? Do you continue to procrastinate initiating or completing existing projects? Would you like to have a passion or a drive to start and finish goals?

Most of our behaviors, survival mechanisms, and drives were formed in early childhood. With hypnosis we can tap into these old programs to create new neural pathways in your brain. The brain and the psyche are very malleable and are constantly changing.

Imagine starting fresh with a new template of beliefs so that you can have the life you dream of. You can be the creator of your life. Limitations are usually only self-imposed by fear and old negative programming.

Dr. Ray can help you rewrite the script for your life so you can manifest your dreams and develop a more balanced life.

    Fears and Phobias

Do you have a fear or phobia? Do you fear speaking in public, flying, elevators, spiders, snakes, open spaces, closed spaces, the sight of blood, diseases, germs, or people? Do you experience palpitations, anxiety, trouble breathing, or sweating?

A fear generally arises from a prior traumatic event. Many times the root of our fear is subconscious, but we are able to link the connection to something significant. On the other hand, a phobia could be construed as an irrational fear because the person who is experiencing the phobia may not have had a negative experience to that which he fears. For example, a person might fear dogs, but has never been bitten or attacked by a dog.

Fears and phobias could be addressed and alleviated successfully with hypnosis, somatic experience, and breath work. Subsequently, I have seen links for present phobias to past lives.

Dr. Ray recognizes the sensitivity of fears and phobias. He understands that a person who is experiencing a fear or phobia has physical symptoms that ensue. These fears and phobias are very real to a person. He addresses the physical body as much as the mind in order to bring cohesive harmony between the two.

    Artistic Freedom & Creativity

As a former musician and actor, Dr. Ray is quite familiar with the entertainment industry and how a actor/musician/model could feel rejected because of the harshness of the business. He is also aware of how an artist is put on the spot to be vulnerable and judged. This temperamental business triggers many complexes in artists.

Being located in Los Angeles has allowed Dr. Ray to work extensively with actors and artists to enhance their confidence in their craft. Eliminating fears that usually sabotage auditions or feelings of unworthiness that hold you back from your full potential will better your chances and experiences.

He also works with directors and screenwriters to overcome blocks, to keep their vision, and give them the ability to tap into the creativity that lies within. Expressing your art is an integral part of who you are. It is an extension of your "self." Recognizing and understanding your emotions that go into your craft will help support you in the entertainment industry.

Imagine enjoying going to auditions. Imagine enjoying the journey and experience. Imagine being all that you are and walking away in good spirits. Let your brilliance and passion shine.

    Sexual Abuse Recovery

Dr. Ray specializes in working with victims of sexual abuse. Harvard Medical School's latest statistics find that 20% of girls and 10% of boys are molested before puberty. (Harvard Mental Health Letter, Vol. 20, #7, January 2004)

Survivors often experience a loss of childhood innocence, a disruption of their normal sexual development, and a profound sense of betrayal and distrust. Other damaging consequences include low self-esteem and difficulty establishing satisfying sexual and emotional relationships as adults. Other common symptoms of sexual abuse include guilt, shame, depression, alienation, revulsion at being touched, drug and alcohol abuse, obesity, and elevated suicide rates. Sexually transmitted diseases or infections, chronic pelvic or gastrointestinal disorders are also prevalent in this population.

Sometimes survivors live their entire lives replaying traumatic experiences over and over again in their minds. It is usually subconscious but will manifest as symptoms of sexual dysfunctions or as intimate relationship issues.

There are methods of dealing effectively with the post-trauma of sexual abuse. Symptoms caused from sexual abuse are usually psychosomatic because the mind and body was psychologically injured. The goal of therapy is to reunite the mind/body connection and bring healing energy and new positive beliefs for recovery.

You have the ability to reorganize your thoughts. There are no reasons to continue replay hurtful memories. Imagine coming to a place of peace with yourself. Imagine feeling in control, empowered, and safe.

    Test Anxiety

Taking a test might make you break out in a cold sweat or cause other physiological symptoms. This anxiety usually stems from experiences in your childhood. We are a performance driven society, and so much of our "self" worth has been placed on our achievements. On a primal level, we unconsciously remember being rewarded by our parents for being good and shunned for being bad or making mistakes.

Through hypnosis and other relaxation exercises, you can walk into an exam setting exuding more confidence, being more relaxed, ascertaining easier memory retrieval, and actually enjoying the process and challenge.

Whether it is the Psychology State Board Exam, Acupuncture Board Exam, BARExam, the Medical Board Exam, the Real Estate Board Exam in California, as well as with adolescents taking final exams, there are no reasons not to take the tests stress-free.

Many people spend several hours studying under pressure resulting in sleep deprivation and an inability to retain information. Prepare yourself, your health, and your mind to have a positive and welcoming experience.

    Rebirthing

The fetus does not have a discriminating, conscious mind t, but the unconscious mind is properly functioning and recording implicit memory from the mother. In other words, an unborn baby's beliefs and survival patterns are formed in the womb.

The fetus records all of the mother's feelings, but is not able to decipher the true reality. According to Margaret Mahler, author of "The Psychological Birth of the Human Infant," the physical birth and psychological birth do not take place at the same time. Thus, a separate, autonomous human being with an identity of one's own "self does not come to be concomitantly.

If mother is sad, he is sad - if mother is angry, he is angry - if mother is happy, he is happy, and so on. Chronic anxiety or stress during pregnancy can have a strong, negative influence on a child's personality. On the contrary, a welcomed pregnancy where the mother is joyful, relaxed, and supported, can lead to the emotional development of a healthy child. The womb could be seen as where learning begins.

Dr. Ray has been trained in rebirthing. With the combination of hypnosis and breath work, you will be able to tap into the unconscious process of your birth. You will be able to recognize the negative cognitions you were born with and reexperience a more nurturing and inviting birth in an environment that fosters safety and love.

    Life Purpose

Do you feel like you are at a fork in the road and cannot make a decision? Are you tired of feeling stuck, stifled, or trapped? Would you like to feel enthusiastic and propel toward something you love to do? Would you like to feel passion burning inside of your heart?

These are experiences that most of us would like to feel. Without passion or meaning it is hard to feel motivated. Many of us have unconscious blocks that keep us from seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. Many of us sabotage situations because of a fear of the unknown.

"It is virtually impossible not become what you think about most. If you concentrate on something long enough, it becomes part of your psyche. If you think about problems, you will find problems. If you think about solutions, you will find solutions" - Napoleon Hill

This path of Self-realization, recognized by many in its completed form in such diverse spiritual figures as the Christ, Moses, Mohammed, the Buddha, Confucius and Krishna, is perhaps for most of us more a process than a goal. In Carl Jung's experience, for most of us there is no instantaneous access or painless road to knowledge of the "self."

Each of us is as unique as our thumbprint. Relating to the "self" is an unpredictable universal mystery in each and every one of us. No one can tell you what your life purpose is, but there are tools that can help eliminate the beliefs that might be stifling you. Imagine feeling freer with your own thoughts. Imagine developing your own beliefs without the influences of others.

    Past Life Therapy

Dr. Ray provides past-life therapy for those of you who believe in reincarnation or are just curious about the notion. Past-life therapy can be very helpful in addressing an array of issues. Past life therapy provides us with an understanding of past "themes," “karma” and "beliefs" and how those issues have been carried into this incarnation.

A belief in reincarnation is not necessary for Past-Life therapy to be effective. As long as one works with the process, the mind will function whether or not one believes in reincarnation. The primary goal of a practitioner is to help a client get better. We are not trying to prove theory, doctrine, truth or facts. Call it past-lives, dreams, fantasies, symbols, synchronicities, or what you will we are all multi-dimensional beings with a myriad of unconscious material that is just waiting for an invitation to surface.

There is a universal hero or heroine in all of us that is powerful and wise. We can vanquish evil in the form of dragons, serpents, monsters, and demons, and so on to liberate ourselves from suffering and confusion. Sometimes our issues feel infinite as if we have experienced them before over and over again in another lifetimes. Past-life therapy gives us the opportunity to clean up unfinished business and help us with our present lives.

    Confidence

All of us could use a little more. There are array of reasons why many of us have low self-esteem or lack confidence. Sometimes we have varying levels confidence in different areas of our lives be it professional, social, or personal.

If we were raised in an environment where we were continuously scrutinized and judged, we might continue to have that belief as a cognitive blueprint in our unconscious minds. If we only focused on what we were good at when we were younger, we might have never developed other skills for different situations.

The feeling of rejection can be embarrassing and annihilating. Feeling naked and vulnerable takes courage. It is not about developing something you do not have, but empowering and recognizing what you already have.

"Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate. Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure. It is our light, not our darkness, that most frightens us. We ask ourselves, "Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented and fabulous?" Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God. Your playing small does not serve the world. There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you. We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us. It is not just in some of us. It is in everyone. And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same. As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others." - Nelson Mandela 1994 Inaugural Address

    Family Issues

Your family can be your greatest source of support, comfort, and love. It can also be your greatest source of pain and grief. A health crisis, work problems, or teenage rebellion may threaten to tear your family apart. Seeking a specialist to help your family is not a sign of weakness or incompetence, but a tremendous step in a positive direction. None of us were given a manual on how to solve and cope with family issues.

Most professionals believe that family issues are caused by: poor communication, financial problems, job change, a lack of commitment to the family, a lack of conflict resolution skills, physical, sexual or emotional abuse, addictions and substance abuse, failed expectations or unmet needs, a death in the family, a move to a new location, or a divorce.

Hypnosis can help you learn new ways to interact and to overcome old problems. Bringing happiness, resolution or understanding to you and your family is the primary goal of therapy. You will understand yourself better, therefore, enabling you to relate to your family better.

    Sadness and Lethargy

Depressive feelings affect individuals differently. It can be disguised as anger, sadness, stress, overachieving, work, laziness, or procrastination. Normal grieving or sadness sometimes causes depressive feelings over a death, divorce, loss of job, financial stress, or other existential crises. However, many of us are constantly sad even when our lives appear to be fine. Experts say that true depression is usually a chronic condition or repetitive pattern in one's life.

You should not have to go through life feeling chronically sad. Many people who suffer with constant sadness grew up in depressive or toxic homes. Some of these people believe that this is normal living and feelings and do not know what happiness feels or looks like. Sadness can be seen as merely a symptom caused by poor coping skills or as instilled negative beliefs.

I help clients explore new possibilities and beliefs that might better serve them. I combine hypnosis along with other upliftiing reinforcements to create new positive beliefs and feelings. Hypnosis and coaching can help clients problem solve and provide new solutions. Hypnotherapy helps clients reframe their lives into more positive and productive direction.

    Success

The word success is relative and has different meanings for every individual. In this context, when I speak of success, I am talking about career, achievement, performance, and financial circumstances.

If we were raised an environment where money was spoken of as an evil thing, we might unconsciously sabotage opportunities because of our fear of money. For example, we may develop low self-esteem and not deserve that we deserve a raise for our efforts in the work place.

This may be because we may have come from a very wealthy family, but our father was so consumed with business and money that he was emotionally crippled, or because the last time we had a lot of money we got involved in drugs, or because when our career was going well we overspent, claimed bankruptcy, and lost everything.

Whatever the case is, money or success is usually never the real issue. It is your perception of success. How a person unconsciously views money or success is going to determine the outcome. Before a person gets a raise or a promotion, he has to have the capacity to receive it. Money cannot fix or destroy anyone. It can only amplify where a person already is.

The first thing a person should do is to identify any fears in regards to money or success. If a person takes out the fears, this opens up new possibilities. Once a person can imagine and feel himself being successful, there are no limitations. Hypnosis can help a person to open up channels that will invite new conscious awareness to manifest money and success.

    Couples and Relationship Issues

Why do we attract unhealthy relationships over and over again? Why do we feel like we are not good enough? Why is our behavior out of control sometimes when our partner does something we do not like? Why do we feel insecure even though we know we are loved or supported? Why are we not able to change our current circumstances or communicate what our needs are? Why doesn't he or she understand me? Why are we not able to end a troubled relationship without feeling scared or abandoned?

Regardless of the choices we make, it appears that each one of us is unconsciously searching for a partner with positive and negative personality traits. So eventually issues do arise; and many times they are the same issues we experienced in our prior relationships. Some of us might say, "In the beginning everything was perfect. Over the last year she changed. Maybe I am outgrowing her." Are we recreating the same issues or are we co-creating the same issues with the same type of partners?

All of our old wounds will shape our survival patterns. Those patterns will be set forth in order for us to exist and become the unconscious and conscious process that helps us choose a partner. Since we are not born with the tools to discriminate between conditional love and unconditional love, many times we end up bargaining for whatever love and attention we can get, even if it's abusive. So thoroughly are the lessons of childhood learned that a child has difficulty separating his feelings from the attitudes impressed upon him by his parents.

Dr. Ray will help you develop better coping skills and boundaries so you can address you partner and other situations with more clarity. With hypnosis you will be able to integrate new life-tools to help understand yourself and interpersonal relationships better.

    Addictions

What purpose do addictions serve us? What is the addiction replacing? What does the addiction keep us from seeing or feeling? What would happen to our lives if the addiction were alleviated?

We have forgotten how to listen to our bodies; we take drugs or drink alcohol for everything that goes wrong with us; we can have an intestinal bypass or we can have our stomach stapled. We can turn ourselves over to medicine without ever questioning what the body is trying to tell us. To our peril, we assume our bodies have no wisdom of their own and we attempt to fix our symptoms or physical ailments without making the necessary emotional corrections. We may temporarily succeed, but the body has a mind of its own and soon another symptom appears, attempting to draw our attention to some basic problem.

Living life constantly under our personal and environmental pressure creates an inescapable stress. When we take a drug, drink, eat food or have sex, the stress is temporarily alleviated or released. If we look at what purpose addictions serve neurologically, we can attempt to use them to survive. Constant stress will produce the biochemical changes called the "fight or flight" mode. Drugs, alcohol, food, and even risk-taking behaviors will help temporarily alleviate this mode. Eventually our bodies develop a tolerance and the intervals of relief shorten.

Dr. Ray helps individuals develop better coping skills to stress. During the sessions you will be given the opportunity to address the source of the addiction. In order for sessions to be successful, it is highly recommended that a client attend some type of 12-step program or support group in conjunction with hypnosis

    Chronic Health Issues

Why do some people always have health issues? Is it normal to always be sick just because one is aging? What is normal? Why are elders in other countries healthier than Americans? Are there other ways to prevent sickness? Do I have to live in pain for the rest of my life? Why do I always get sick this time of the year? It seems like I always get sick when things are going well for me. Is there a metaphor behind a health ailment?

Most of the time our bodies will give us a fair warning that we need to slow down. Catching the common cold or experiencing a headache could be our first warning. We treat it like a false alarm - pop a few pills, and go on with our lives as if we were invincible. Most of us live our lives with inescapable stress and compromise our immune systems rendering ourselves more susceptible to sickness and diseases. Many people will go to the doctor frequently and never examine their diet, life stressors or psychological make-up.

It has been reported that 70% to 80% of all illnesses seen in medical offices are caused by stress or made worse by stress. High blood pressure, anxiety, panic, depression, ulcer and other gastrointestinal diseases, headaches, recurrent colds and flus, bronchitis, allergy, cancer, diabetes, asthma, skin disorders, multiple sclerosis, injuries, accidents, chronic fatigue syndrome, low back pain, neck pain, abdominal pain, recurrent vaginal infections, bladder infections, alcoholism, drug addiction, smoking along with many other illnesses and diseases which we do not have space to mention are often related to stress.

In conjunction with proper food and exercise, one has to change one's attitudes for mind/body healing to take place. One needs to understand how one works from the inside out. The mind is working and integrating new experiences everyday, every minute, and every second during waking or sleep. Researchers are now able to link external influences to the biological change in one's mental and physical state. Our bodies contain the best natural pharmaceuticals.

Dr. Ray recognizes the mind/body connection and incorporates these theories with his techniques. The unconscious mind has a vast repository of experiences and source material that can be employed to overcome almost any adversity. We all have unutilized knowledge and resources within us to produce positive changes. Change first starts with the belief.

    Surgeries

Surgery can be a very traumatic experience for anybody. It makes us think about our mortality and brings up our hidden fears around death. It is a time when we may feel our vulnerability most because we are putting our lives into the hands of another human being. Surgery forces our attention on issues in our lives that need to be resolved. It triggers a lot of emotional discord, thus enabling our bodies to finally get our minds to pay attention to it.

There is no doubt with all these reasons why surgeries can be life changing. A person is sometimes drastically changed after a surgery. To some, it's a spiritual awakening yet a traumatic and painful experience for others. Some people heal very quickly and smoothly while others continue to suffer with complications - never heal and are emotionally tormented by the experience. Some of these people will end up back on the gurney for another operation for the same symptom or a new problem.

A person who just had surgery might be experiencing unconscious and somatic disarray. If a person doesn't have good coping skills to deal with stress, he or she is more than likely to have more complications with the surgery and recovery process. A person who has unresolved psychological issues has a higher chance of having a negative experience.

It is very important for a person to take a good, accurate inventory of any fears that might surface before a surgery. Preparing for surgeries has proven to be an invaluable tool to help a person move through the surgical process with great success. Studies show that hypnosis reduces pain, anxiety, the amount of medication people need, complications, and shortens procedures by 17 to 20 minutes per procedure.

    Stress and Anxiety

When stressful situations occur only once in a while and are resolved, no significant problem may be created. However, if there is a string of challenging events or difficult situations recurring continuously without resolution, chronic stress may develop. While stress itself is normal and a natural part of life, chronic stress is not. Chronic stress is the lowest level of a series of unhealthy conditions that can ultimately lead to illness, disease, and even death.

Our bodies respond physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually to stress. The symptoms may be: anxiety, confusion, feelings of hostility, alienation, loneliness, aggression, headaches, indigestion, abdominal pains, chest pains, raised blood pressure, and change of body weight. You may begin taking over-the-counter medications like Tums, Maalox, Excedrin, laxatives, Pepto Bismol, etc. If a health issue or a stressful lifestyle is not addressed in a healthy way, the body might respond inappropriately and advance to the next level called "disease."

The key is to recognize and understand our stress. Once you understand the unconscious theme behind your stress, it will be easier for you to ameliorate it. You become the director of your life and can rewrite the script. Hypnosis helps you tap into your inner "self." The philosophy is to help a client become more objective to their life experiences and not remain trapped in the subjective experiences. It's easier to eliminate stress and anxiety when we feel more in control.

    Changing Unwanted Behavior

All of us have behaviors we would like to modify or stop. We might have poor coping skills and become angry over little things or get overwhelmed and cry. Some of us have difficulty communicating or expressing ourselves. Many of us get involved in unhealthy relationships over and over again. Some of us unconsciously sabotage ourselves with things that are going well for us, whether it is our job, relationship, or diet.

If a person were to closely examine his unwanted behavior, he would probably discover that it stems from a much deeper place such as an old, unhealed wound. He might be aware of the pattern or vicious cycle, but not know how to stop. Unwanted behavior can be like trying to stop an addiction for both have similar ramifications. Most of us have been raised in families that were in some way dysfunctional. Whether we came from a family where there was an alcoholic parent, an overly religious mother, a workaholic father, or were raised by foster or grandparents, we all belonged to some type of family system and beliefs.

These are the beliefs that have been instilled in our unconscious mind. Prehistoric man taught his offspring how to survive in the wild, how to avoid being eaten by a predator, and how to fight off outside intruders. This is no different than our society today. Our families help teach survival skills and beliefs that will be our colorful blueprint that we will share with our children. While some of these teachings are helpful and necessary for survival, there are usually a set of beliefs that might be convoluted and hold no truth to our reality today.

Our unwanted behaviors are a manifestation of our life experiences. Whether we learned these behaviors to adapt, to survive, or whether they were passed down to us from generation to generation, if we do not want them, we don't have to keep them. Hypnosis helps you examine your unconscious mind and to develop new positive beliefs and tools.

Understanding the "Law of Attraction" and how to apply it from the movie "The Secret"

Dr. Ray offers a two-hour session demonstrating techniques on how to relinquish negative patterns, perceptions, and emotions. He will elucidate how recurring themes happen in life and the roots from which they are created. The session will give you practical day-to-day exercises on how to be in the here-and-now as well as process challenges and stress. He will give you the tools to help you feel positive when you are going through difficult times. This exploration will help you understand your soul's purpose and how to manifest experiences that are in alignment to your spiritual growth. You will develop techniques on how to create affirmations that support your soul and your "wants."

Note: You will receive individual attention based on your needs and in order to further your development. Each protocol is different and one does not apply to all clients. This two-hour session is not to replace any therapies you might be undergoing. It should be construed as an adjunct to help you reach your optimal potential.

Many of these concepts are derived from the movie ”The Secret.”
Any person who is familiar with the understanding of "the law of attraction" or "creative visualization" will highly benefit from this workshop.
